Battle navigation
Batnav or Bnav, take your pick lol
I am so not the best one to give tips on bnav, but I do spend a lot of time with awesome people (I secretly totally hate them for their awesomeness <<)
I will give a few tips from them and also links where you can read up and study videos.
YPPEDIA : http://yppedia.puzzlepirates.com/Battle_navigation
(quoting a mate who is one of the best pvp-navigators I know of)
"In PvP, always do a /vwho on the other ship to check how much are aboard and who might possibly be bnavving and what his standing is.
When you are in PvP, try to check in what ways the other ship might hit you and try to counterattack them. Also if you see the other bnavver has a certain technique, try to adapt your bnavving style to his.
Also, don't stop shooting when the other ship is maxed. If you aren't able to grapple him because he's getting too much moves, keep shooting him and he will stop after a few moves because his bilge is rising too fast. Unless if his sailors are (removed the names, but very good sailors), his carpenter is (me) and his bilger is (ulti bilger)... Then you're just ****** (bad word). If he doesn't have these people on those stations, go around his back and grapple."
Whirlpools and winds will work at your favor if you learn how to use them, rocks are a big nono unless you can trick the other ship towards them
Here is a video showing a seabattle, its from the old bnav scene but the moves you put in are still the same.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYEFE2rnHmo&feature=related
To put your moves in you can either click the empty slots until you have the move you want, or you can drag the token into the slot.
Practice plenty in the navy and learn the whirlpools, winds and how the brigand ships normally move.

Re: Battle navigation
also do your moves right at the last second, because some brigs and barbs work out your moves.

Re: Battle navigation
Just a note - if this is still a tips and tricks page and not a general - let's see how many time we can say bunneh - + lets take the michael out of flash... page...
On Bat Nav, If you are going to LSM, (last second move) Don't do it constantly - (on PVP, Yes, but that's a bit different...) Because eventually - yer opponant will work out what yer doing and expect you to do something =].
The navy, as a general - is shite - cos yer stats never go anywhere so if ye want to get yer bat nav up - just get out there with a good crew and a sloop and ye'll be driving that ridiculous Grand Frig. in no time! =S

Re: Battle navigation
Remember With LSM's (last second moves) the more you do back to back the easier it is for the AI (Artificial Intelligence) to know your moves.
As far as Pvp be unpredictable. I also semi disagree with the LSM every move method. With me I mix it up I'll telegraph my moves for a while, then a couple of LSM's. Another Trick is to put shots in to fake a moves then cancel them out at the last second. Don't treat a pvp opponent like a brigand that's the most common mistake I've seen.

Re: Battle navigation
yah pvp and brigands are huge different lol
I know ppl who rawk against pvp but its hard for them to like reset the brain when they face a brigand and they loose lol
Im a scatterbrain naver myself but I love messing with the brigands with the moves rofl
>< no fun if u lag out though but ah well

Umm this is called Last second move (LSM) and if you do it too often, brigs and barbs will start making moves AFTER the timer has gone. It works on humans, but i would not reccomend it on Brigs/Barbs
